‘Tis the Season
As many of us go into the holiday season, we start to open our hearts and wallets to those less fortunate. At Dast2Dast our entire volunteer base opens its hearts throughout the year by giving time, money, food, smiles and sometimes lending an ear or giving a hug. I feel truly blessed to part of this amazing group of people.
Every once in a while, even such giving people want to dig a little deeper and give a little more. This note is a plea for your help.
In walking thought the kitchen at the Falls Church Shelter last month, a few of us noticed that the pantry shelves were empty and the refrigerators/freezers were sparse. After talking with a manager, we learned that donations are down.
With Hypothermia season upon us, we are asking you to dig a little deeper this month. As you come to the shelter or drop off your food, we ask that you also drop off 10 or more cans of food that can help replenish the pantry shelves. This extra $10-20 out of your pocket can go to help feed 10-20 people a meal they might desperately need.
Thank you again for being part of the elite group of people who put others ahead of themselves.
With Love,
Anna Behnam
